In Remembrance: A London POW’s Story

In Remembrance: A London POW’s Story

After Flight Sergeant, Kenneth Irwin, died in London in 1976, his family found a journal that he kept almost daily while being held as a POW for 11 months during WWII. Under the worst circumstances, Irwin describes his incarceration in eloquent detail that provides a first-hand narrative about his experiences and the resilience and courage required to survive. Amabile is privileged to share Irwin’s journey in story and song.

The Amabile Youth Singers (Tenor/Bass) and Primus share his powerful story in a blend of music and story-telling in collaboration with St. Peter’s Cathedral Basilica.

Tickets are available here.

In Remembrance: Out of the Rubble and Ruins: Hope

In Remembrance: Out of the Rubble and Ruins: Hope

During WWII, tens of thousands of Canada’s young men and yes, women too, were encouraged to enlist to help the war effort. The reality was lost on so many who jumped at the chance to spread their wings and to see the world.  They had no idea what going to war would actually involve as they ran in droves to the signup offices.  Private Edward Clifford Butler from Lucan was one of those who enlisted as a teenager and through word and song, the Amabile Choirs tell his story.

Tickets are available here.
